The Other Side

For a number of days my e-mail time has presented accents by a discussion to which I have become involved. This exchange has shown to be an airing in the differences of opinion. Though this time has seen it's moments of constructive texting. There have been those cruel combination of words that have tried to exploit negative stereotypes.

This volley of digital paradox seemed strange in that our discussion through the taps of keyboards was perchance more important than both of us realized. We were on one hand bringing a new level of comprehension to the dynamics of a tragic problem. Where as in the years gone by the cries of the injured where heard no more than a whisper on a windy day.

But now because our desires and thoughts are texted and then put "On the Record", the moment we hit the send button. The cries of the exiled are heard and compared for their validity against the claims made concerning the flaws of the keepers.

What is granted when the gift of clarity comes through the written word? Review of the facts? Power of Truth? Accountability? Direction? Solutions? Or is it as simple as granting those on opposing sides of an issue a chance to assimilate new views into their own operational model? Maybe it is all of these but that observation is to overt.

The lesson to me has been "Give it a chance", When all hope seems lost give hope another chance. There are great efforts now being made on all levels for fathers and their children. Just as in the birthing of a child there was one last push to make it real.
